World War I and the Rise of Modernism
December 17 – July 19, 2015

Earlier this week, The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art opened a new exhibition in collaboration with the National World War I Museum at Liberty Memorial, the Kansas City Symphony, the Kansas City Ballet and the Lyric Opera. “World War I and the Rise of Modernism” examines art in relation to WWI as well as music and sound compositions from the Modernist era. Be one of the first to experience the exhibit and check out the upcoming events scheduled for its duration, ranging from musical performances to a screening of “All Quiet on the Western Front.”

Kansas City Jazz Ambassadors Holiday Brunch & Fundraiser
Friday, December 26 | 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The Broadway Jazz Club hosts the annual Kansas City Jazz Ambassadors Holiday Brunch the Friday after Christmas. The brunch includes drinks (mimosas or bloody mary’s) and music from the Young Jazz Masters. Tickets cost $35 in advance ($45 at the door); advance VIP tickets are $50. Great for any jazz lover and the perfect way to celebrate the day after Christmas.
