This Friday, the band Sticks and Stones will be playing country hits from the 80’s and 90’s. With three part harmonies and steel guitar they are sure to be a hit with everyone. Summer Dusk 2015 Sunset Concert Series

Kennedy Memorial by Northeast Arts KC, this free concert series promises an enjoyable evening for the whole family. Featuring local and regional musicians, the series is held every third Saturday of the month during summer months. Feel free to bring a blanket or a folding chair, and if you’d like, a picnic basket or cooler with your favorite snacks and beverages.

Check out the 7th annual Microbrew Festival presented by UNICO Kansas City this Saturday at the beautiful Zona Rosa Square. Each brewery will have their own booth to serve you a wide variety of craft and import brews. More than 100 microbrews, some amazing food vendors and live music make this an afternoon event you won’t want to miss. For your admission fee, you will receive a 5 ounce tasting glass and unlimited tastes from all of our brewers. Food vendors will offer Italian sausage, hot dogs, lemonade, cherry limeade, and more. Tickets are $25 in advance, or $30 at the event on the day of, so be sure to purchase yours now.

Farmers’ Market at City Market

If you haven’t been down to the City Market to visit the Farmers’ Market you should definitely put it on your list for this weekend. It’s open every Saturday and Sunday year-round, but summer is definitely the best time to visit this open-air market. More than 140 vendor stalls burst with bedding plants, fruits, vegetables, meats, herbs, fresh baked goods and other sweets, cut flowers and crafts made by local artisans. At the City Market Farmers’ Market, you will find the finest produce, fresh from Missouri and the surrounding region and benefit from unsurpassed value, all while support local farmers. During the summer weekends you can also enjoy live music and the City Market Park next door.

Interesting and fun for the whole family, Gridiron Glory: The Best of the Pro Football Hall of Fame features hundreds of historic artifacts, photos and rare documents from the Pro Football Hall Of Fame. Housed inside Union Station, it’s accompanied by a multi-media, immersive fan experience, interactive elements and exclusive material from NFL Films. Plus, there’s a whole gallery dedicated solely to unique artifacts and history to pay tribute to the Kansas City Chiefs. The exhibit is in its final weeks, ending September 7th, so go see it while you still can and get excited for the start of football season. It’s a great option for a hot summer day.
