The food trucks will be out in full force this Friday for First Fridays in the Crossroads Arts District downtown. Also, don’t miss the beer garden from Ollie’s Local. In the coming months, the Star will be rotating lots of new trucks in and out of the parking lot on First Fridays, so you’ll have an opportunity to try more new mobile food concepts than ever.

Kegs ‘N Eggs! Kansas City’s only Adult Easter Egg Hunt and Craft Beer Festival returns to the Kansas City Renaissance Festival grounds this Saturday afternoon. Thousands of eggs spread across the festival grounds contain tickets to be redeemed for prizes and some particularly lucky eggs will be filled with cash. During the hunt there will also be craft beer tastings from local and regional breweries for you to sip and enjoy while listening to music from a live band. So come out for a few beers, scavenge for hidden eggs, and partake in this one-of-a-kind Adult Easter Egg Hunt!

Passport to India Festival

Travel to India with a celebration of Indian art, culture, music, dance, fashion and food this Sunday at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. Collect a “passport” when you arrive, and have it stamped along the way as you enjoy dance performances, live music, colorful traditional and and much more. Taste delicious Indian-inspired cuisine in Rozelle Court and participate in hands on art activities. Purchase Indian specialties such as samosas, Hyderbadi Chicken Biryani, lentil cutlets, chai and coconut cardamom cookies. Local artists will also be demonstrating traditional henna designs using markers for you to watch and try a temporary tattoo. So bring the whole family to this free event and cultural celebration.

Opening Day at the K

The 2016 World Series Champions Kansas City Royals are back in action at Kauffman Stadium as they face off against the Mets for Opening Day at the K this Sunday evening. So come out to support the hometown team for the Royals home opener! The KC Tailgaters will be celebrating in style, so stop by to join the party. Plenty of food, beer and fun will be had by all. And if you don’t have tickets to the game, but want to enjoy the atmosphere of being there, you’ll be able to watch the game on two TVs at the tailgate.
