Visit Oak Ridge Family Social Club & LC Interiors on Episode 3 of Selling Kansas City

Thanks for joining us for episode three of The American Dream, Selling Kansas City! In this episode, we visit a one-of-a-kind family social club – literally, the only one like it in the United States. We also get to chat with one of our favorite interior designers in Kansas City.

Oak Ridge Family Social Club

Dani was able to sit down with one of the owners of the Oak Ridge Family Social Club, Chuck Cuda. Chuck shares with us the concept behind this new family club in Kansas City and gives us a few highlights of what can be found at the club.

If you’re looking for wholesome, family entertainment in Kansa City with both indoor and outdoor fun, the Oak Ridge Family Social Club is where you want to be. Chuck shares with us that this social club is the first one in the country. It has a full bar and restaurant, a nine-hole par 3 golf course with fully synthetic turf tee boxes and greens – also the only one in continental U.S. In addition to these amenities, you can find two, 18-hole mini golf courses, a movie theater room and poker room, an outdoor playground and six tournament-style pickleball courts, a fishing pond, basketball court and recreation deck for things like corn hole, bocce ball and other lawn games.

You can have all of these things at your fingertips with the purchase of one of their four membership levels: Individual, Couple, Family or Corporate. Oak Ridge also hosts their own monthly social events for members, and you have the opportunity to book this beautiful space for your own private events.

Speaking of a gorgeous space, let’s introduce you to Laura Colemen of LC Interiors.

LC Interiors

Oak Ridge Family Social Club hired LC Interiors for the design and finishes of the club. You can expect what Laura calls “elevated casual” as the vibe for the design of the space. It includes moody dark walls and leather lounge chairs and couches, perfect for sipping cocktails and relaxing after a long work day.

Laura started the project in November 2021, and it took about 14 months until it was ready to be open to its members. They really wanted an indoor/outdoor experience for the club, so the deck wraps around the entirety of the main building of the property.

After sharing some of her favorite spaces at the Oak Ridge Family Social Club, Laura took us to another project she recently completed in the basement of a home in Staley Hills.

On the initial consultation, they were working with a blank space. So, they discussed the vision of what they wanted the space to be. For example, the wife is a huge puzzle and craft person, so Laura created a nook specifically for that purpose. However, it can also function as an eating space or cozy reading nook. She wanted them to be able to get the most out of each section of the basement.

For the husband, she created an office and a big media center area with a large sectional for watching basketball games. This area is close to the bar so they can host gatherings and there is something for everyone to enjoy.

We love Laura’s work and have utilized her skills in our own office space!

Thanks again for joining us as we showcase some of our favorite places to be and introduce you to some of our favorite people in Kansas City. We are so blessed to call this city home, and we are blessed to help people find their homes here.
