If you’re a fan of college hoops, then this is the weekend for you in Kansas City as the Big 12 Men’s Basketball Championship is once again taking over the Sprint Center. A tradition that will be staying in Kansas City through 2020, this year’s tournament marks the seventh consecutive year the event has been held at the Sprint Center. Will last year’s reigning champ, Iowa State claim the title again, or is it someone else’s turn to be champion?

Tom’s Town Distillery Tour

Tours Friday at Saturday at 11:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 2:30 p.m., 4:00 p.m and 5:30 p.m.
Tours $10 per person
New distillery and bar, Tom’s Town, is celebrating the Men’s Basketball Big 12 Championship by offering five distillery tours a day this Friday and Saturday. Tours last approximately 30 minutes and include an in-depth look at the distillation process as well as a brief overview of Kansas City during Boss Tom’s rule. Tours will fill up fast, so reservations are highly recommended. You can reserve your spot here. If you can’t make it this weekend, tours are also offered every day Tom’s Town is open.

If you didn’t get your car fix at the Auto Show last weekend, then head back to Bartle Hall this Friday and Saturday for the Mecum Car Auction. The Mecum Auction Company is the world leader in collector cars, vintage and antique motorcycles, and Road Art sales, and hosts auctions all across the United States. The company has been specializing in the sale of collector cars for 29 years, and now offers more than 20,000 lots per year. But you don’t have to be a buyer to appreciate all the great cars the auction has to offer.

Snake Saturday Parade

Parade Starts at 11 a.m.
Get in the St. Patrick’s Day spirit this weekend at the Snake Saturday Parade and Festival. Snake Saturday Parade brings up to 100,000 people to historic, downtown North Kansas City on the Saturday before St. Patrick’s Day, making it the largest Irish parade and festival in the area. Snake Saturday begins on Friday evening with the opening of the carnival area and the Annual Charity Cook-off. The event continues on Saturday with the addition of food vendors, a free children’s area, children’s stage and, of course, the parade. So, come, be a part of a Northland tradition! The parade begins at 14th and Swift, turning right on Armour Road, then takes another right on Howell and continues to 18th street.
