Missouri State Fair

August 7-17, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

If you haven’t had a chance to make your way out to the Missouri State Fair yet this year, don’t miss out! Come out to Sedalia and celebrate all that is Missouri with a wide array of activities including scavenger hunts, Pepsi Grandstand concerts, competitions, carnivals, contests, and on-site camping and picnics.  Ethnic Enrichment Festival

Friday through Sunday, August 15 – 17

“Feel the world beat in the heart of America” this weekend at Swope Parks Ethnic Enrichment Festival. As one of the largest festivals of it’s kind in the country, the festival will educate and enrich you on over sixty different cultures, allowing you to experience the native foods, crafts and performances of each country. “It is the responsibility and duty of each individual ethnic group to preserve the cultural heritage of their people not only for the benefit of their descendants but also for the enrichment of our entire community,” says the Ethnic Enrichment Commission. Back-to-School-Bash at Paradise Park

Saturday, August 16, 6 p.m to 11 p.m.

Get ready for a musical evening under the stars. Take some time this weekend to let the kids play all day in the Paradise Park, while you take a break and relax with adult beverages and live music. Cap off the night with a performance at 8 p.m. with the best Fleetwood Mac tribute band. Sixth Annual Microbrew Festival

Saturday, August 16, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Join UNICO National of Kansas City this Saturday at Zona Rosa, and help yourself to over sixty microbrews that will satisfy any taste: ambers, pales, ryes, stouts, whatever your flavor, they’ve got it! UNICO is the largest non-profit Italian-American service organization in the country, serving local communities and national organizations by making significant contributions to charities and higher education. Tickets are $30 at the gate, $25 in advance, with the proceeds going to UNICO’s selected charities. Along with the microbrews, experience live music and an array of venders. Historic Downtown Liberty’s Third Annual Craft Beer Crawl

Saturday, August 16, 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

If you don’t have a chance to make it out to Zona Rosa on Saturday, take the road less traveled and head over to Downtown Liberty for their annual 500 Dog Days of Summer Craft Beer Crawl. Buy a sampler glass for $15 and sample over twenty different types of brews at participating bars and restaurant. With live music at 7 p.m., Liberty’s square will offer a taste of laid-back summer fun.
