With Halloween falling on a Tuesday this year, the weekend before is jam packed with fun and spooky events for all ages. We have a little bit of everything featured on our events list below, with something for adults, kids and even your dogs to enjoy!

Spookfest: Science Unwrapped

Grab the kids and head to Union Station on Saturday for Science City’s fifth annual Spookfest: Science Unwrapped! A fun evening of wild entertainment and activities is in store, including spooky science demos, creepy critters in the Nature Center, eerie edibles, a spooktacular science stage show, a costume contest, Halloween slime, and some boo-rific photo opportunities. You also won’t want to miss the Haunted Rail Experience, mini volcano workshops in the test kitchen, a ride on the floating sky bike and much more!

Ripper Halloween Party

$10 Designated Driver Ticket

For a more adult Halloween, spend your Saturday night at Big Rip Brewing Company’s Ripper Halloween Party. Dress up to join in the 5th annual costume party! To make this year their best yet, all drinks are included in the all inclusive ticket. There will also be food trucks available, as well as a DJ, drinking games and prizes throughout the evening. The costume contest will take place at 11 p.m.

Boo at the Zoo

Event Included with Zoo Admission

Mark your calendars for Boo at the Zoo going on all day Saturday and Sunday this weekend. Children will have the opportunity to trick-or-treat the Zoo while enjoying Halloween themed activities and entertainment. Skip, hop, crawl or waddle to trick or treat stations with the zooiest gooiest treats in town. Put on your favorite costume and join the Zoo animals for a great day of not so spooky activities. The animals will also be smashing pumpkins! Check out the gorillas at 11 a.m., chimpanzee at 1 p.m., and orangutans at 2 p.m. On Sunday, catch smashes at the river otters at 10 a.m.

Barks & Boos Halloween Party

And finally, for a dog-friendly Halloween event, head to KC Bier Co on Sunday afternoon for the Barks & Boos Halloween party benefiting Humane Society of Greater Kansas City! This dog-friendly event will include trivia, live music with Bram, a raffle and the ever so popular pet costume contest. Bring the whole family, drink for a good cause, and enjoy the festive Biergarten. All ages and breeds welcome. Dogs must be kept outside and on leashes.
