That chill in the air can only mean one thing, the Crown Center Ice Terrace is once again open for the winter season! Starting this Friday, Kansas City’s only public outdoor ice skating rink will celebrate its 45th season of great skating fun. Open daily through March, you won’t want to miss out on this Kansas City holiday classic. Bring your own skates, or rent them at the rink.

If you’re looking to get your groove on this weekend, you need to head to dance at the depot! The Sprint Festival Plaza at Union Station is transforming into a Gatsby-era good time this Friday evening. Don’t miss an evening filled with music featuring the Kansas City Jazz Orchestra at the Gatsby Swing at the Station. Dance Lessons will start at 7:30 p.m. before the dance, so dust off your dancing shoes and get ready for a fun-filled night.

Day of the Dead

On Sunday, join in the celebration of Mexican culture at the Nelson-Atkins’s annual“Día de los Muertos” festival. This free family fun event will feature live music, art activities, food, and an innovative altar display featuring a 3-D Tree of Life with projected images of artwork by local artists throughout the day.

Wanderfest!

Also on Sunday, head out to explore Tower East District! Join over 15 participating businesses and organizations for art, crafts, music food & drinks throughout the afternoon and evening. Visitors can pick up a guide map at any location. As you explore, collect stamps in a passport from each location. When finished, visit the Cherry Pit Collective to enter a raffle full of goodies from each participating organization!
