13th Annual Parkville Microbrew Fest

Celebrate the coming of summer by spending your Saturday afternoon with handcrafted ales from more than 60 breweries and home brew clubs at beautiful English Landing Park in Parkville. At the 13th Annual Parkville Microbrew Fest, you’ll enjoy unlimited sampling, a commemorative logo tasting glass, tasting notes and live music. Tickets are $35 in advance and $45 the day of the event. So come out to Historic Downtown Parkville and further your beer education, enjoy outdoor grilled foods, music and a great spring day.

Strawberry Swing Indie Craft Fair’s Spring Swing

If local arts and crafts are more your thing, then you won’t want to miss the 2nd annual Spring Swing hosted by the Strawberry Swing Indie Craft Fair, going on all day Saturday and Sunday this weekend. Come check out more than 95 handmade and vintage vendors and see why Buzzfeed voted the fair one of the Top 35 Indie Craft Fairs in the World. Local artists and vendors will be selling all sorts of goodies from clothing, purses and accessories to prints, ceramics, paintings and more. The festivities will also include a variety of food trucks, live music, kids’ crafts, a photo booth and tons of fun. Get there early, as the first 50 guests each day who donate to the fair’s non-profits will receive a Swag Bag filled with all kinds of goodies from the fabulous makers.

Ink’s Middle of the Map Fest – Film

This weekend also kicks off the beginning of Ink’s Middle of the Map Fest, an 11-day cultural explosion of discovery and one of Kansas City’s most well known cultural festivals. And this year? Expect more music, more film and more ideas than ever before. Starting things off is the film portion, with over 25 films to experience at the Alamo Drafthouse Mainstreet throughout the weekend. Also featured as part of Middle of the Map Fest this weekend are a performance by Fred Armisen at the Folly Theater on April 30th and a special concert featuring Peelander-Z on April 28.
