Kick off your weekend with an event your kids are sure to love. Crown Center hosts the final event in its Weekender series, with festivities starting early in the evening at 5 p.m. Take the whole family and enjoy food trucks, crafts and other local vendors. The band, The Magnetics, will start up at 6 p.m. followed by the movie starting at around 9 p.m. This week’s feature flick is the ever popular Frozen as a Sing-a-long, so sing your heart out with your family under the stars this beautiful summer Friday night. The event is free, but do note that pets are not permitted.

Sprint Family Fun Days: Ice Cream Social

Premium Activities at Extra Cost

Nothing says summer like an ice cream social, so bring the family to downtown Kansas City’s Power and Light District for Sprint Family Fun Days. Along with the ice cream social, this carnival themed event in the series will over old-fashioned carnival games, a balloon twister, face painters and more. There’s a whole day worth of events, plus admission is free. To participate in some premium activities, there is the option to purchase a $5 wristband.

ReptiDay Kansas City Reptile & Exotic Animal Show

If you’re into things that creep, crawl and slither then you will definitely want to check out the ReptiDay show this Saturday. Both a show and a sale, ReptiDay features live animals from around the world, as well as pets and pet products that are all available for purchase. Bring the whole family, you and your kids can learn more about reptiles and exotic animals at live seminars and demonstrations held throughout the day. And who knows, you may just find one to take home.

Pop-Up Yoga at Loose Park

Have a stressful week? Then come relax this Saturday at Pop-Up Yoga at Loose Park. These Pop-Up Yoga events have been happening at popular places all over the city, and this weekend the class is being held in the beautiful Loose Park. The class is taught by Pop-Up Yoga leader Lauren Leduc and is an all-levels yoga class. The class will meet behind the Jacob Loose statue off of 52nd and Wornall. Bring a mat/towel, water, sunscreen and friends, cash donations are welcome. After the class is over, stay and take a walk to enjoy the beautiful park and weather afterwards.

If you’re a comics fan then the place for you this weekend is downtown Kansas City at Bartle Hall for the inaugural Kansas City Comic Con. There will be special items available for show and purchase, a costume contest and parade, featured guests, game demonstrations and much more. Go for one day, or for the whole weekend, tickets are available online in advance or at the door.
