Don’t miss your opportunity to take the Baseball Hall of Fame Tour at Kauffman Stadium this weekend. This state-of-the-art traveling baseball experience brings the game directly to fans. The collection combines Cooperstown’s timeless charm, featuring artifacts such as the cap Jackie Robinson wore during the 1955 World Series and the baseball that Babe Ruth hit for his 714th home run, with cutting-edge technology. Immerse yourself in the experience via five mobile exhibit galleries featuring nostalgic elements, iconic images and interactive experiences to put you in the game. If watching the games hasn’t been enough, then head out to the Liberty Memorial to join KC Crew for the KC Olympics benefitting Hope House. Choose between a kickball tournament or a Grass Volleyball Tournament and join in later for the Tailgate Pentathlon with 5 tailgate games such as bags, washers, rope chess, kan jam and bocce ball. Come out and play, or come to cheer on your favorite team. To wrap up the day, local celebrities will be participating in a torch relay to light the tower at Liberty Memorial, with a Gold Medal Ceremony and a concert to follow on the deck of Liberty Memorial. Heart of America Hotdog Festival

Head to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum Saturday for a day of family fun at the Heart of America Hot Dog Festival. The festival includes entertainment and games for all ages, along with an all-star roster of musical performances. Festival goers will also have access to and are encouraged to tour the NLBM. The festival will include area musical groups and includes headline concert performances by legendary funk bands (The Original) Lakeside and ConFunkShun. This year, the NLBM has also partnered with Corvette Connected Vette Club KCMO for the 2nd annual “Summer Sizzle” Car Show on the festival grounds. Close to 50 stylish vehicles will be on display at the event. The advance ticket offer includes admission to the NLBM, plus a free Farmland Hot Dog and Pepsi product. And finally, the Kansas City Comic Con returns this Friday through Sunday at Bartle Hall. Kansas City Comic Con is the area’s hometown comic convention that is open to all ages and dedicated to featuring local and national creators, vendors and cosplayers alongside activities for the entire family.
