October is here and in Kansas City that means Royals postseason baseball. It also means lots of fun fall events, festivals and activities for you and your family and friends to enjoy each weekend. Movies on the Riverfront: Top Gun

Head out to the Berkley River Front this Thursday evening for an outdoor screening of Top Gun, presented by Friends of the River. So grab your family and friends as well as your lawn chairs and blankets and head to the park around dusk. You’re also welcome, and encouraged, to bring your own snacks, wine, beer and bug spray. Admission is free and the movie will begin at 8:00 p.m., so arrive early to grab a place to sit and enjoy the show. Parking is available, but walking and biking is encouraged. Upon arrival, look for the screen just look for the screen, you can’t miss it!

2015 Kansas City’s 18th & Vine Jazz & Blues Festival

Kansas City’s 18th & Vine Jazz and Blues Festival is back this Saturday, featuring multiple stages with more than 22 artists and groups performing the hearty jazz and blues. Along with some incredibly talented headlining musicians, you’ll also be treated to a food and arts court, a variety of local arts and crafts vendors, Jazz Links Education Workshops, jazz film screenings, panel sessions, the Kidz Zone and more. It’s sure to be a rockin’ good time you won’t want to miss. Tickets are available online in advance.

29th Annual Fall Festival

Bring your family to the Shawnee Indian Mission State Historic Site all this weekend for the 29th Annual Fall Festival. Showcasing the historic site, the festival is a great way to enjoy the fall air while also learning about history and heritage. The festival kicks off with a free concert on the lawn on Friday night, followed by 2 fun-filled days of family friendly activities including music, living history demonstrations, food, crafts, games and so much more. Admission to the Fall Festival is free.

Kansas City Ballet Presents: The Three Musketeers

If you haven’t been to the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, now is your chance. The Kansas City Ballet Presents the Three Musketeers, in town Friday – Sunday from October 9th through the 18th. The show, choreographed by André Prokovsky with music by Giuseppe Verdi, lands in Kansas City for the first time ever. Based on the 1844 novel by Alexandre Dumas, the adventures of The Three Musketeers come to life in a full-length ballet described by The New York Times as “a rollicking fast-paced production.” The Three Musketeers is sure to be a great production full of excitement fit for the splendor of the Kauffman Center. Royals Postseason: American League Divison Series vs. Astros
Game 1: Thursday, October 8 at 6:30 p.m.
Game 2: Friday, October 9 at 2:45 p.m.
Game 3: Sunday, October 11 at 3:10 p.m.
Watch all this weekend as the Kansas City Royals take on the Houston Astros in the American League Division Series in their second postseason appearance in a row.
