Hot Rod Power Tour

If your Dad’s a car guy, you won’t want to miss the final stop of the 22nd annual HOT ROD Power Tour 2016, taking place at the Kansas Speedway this Saturday afternoon and evening. The HOT ROD Power Tour is the world’s largest road trip, featuring thousands of cars from all over America and beyond. Walk in spectators are welcome to come check out the thousands of cars who made the journey through seven cities over seven days, as well as massive amounts of manufacturer booths and local hot rods.

Beer. Music. And a great time. There’s not much more Dad could ask for, and you can find it all, and much more, at Boulevardia going on all weekend in the Historic West Bottoms. Boulevardia is a unique beer, food and music festival perfect for celebrating Father’s Day weekend and kicking off summer. The three-day street festival features craft beer and food sampling, music from local, regional and national acts as well as family activities, entertainment, shopping and eco-education in a unique urban setting. Hosted by Kansas City’s own Boulevard Brewing Company, it’s a gathering unlike any other. Don’t miss a special Beer and BBQ Brunch to celebrate Father’s Day on Sunday.

SoJo Summerfest in the Woods

But maybe jazz is more your Dad’s style. If so, head to the SoJo Summerfest in the Woods Friday and Saturday evening. Join in the fun for a night filled with local music, local food and local brews all benefiting local charities. Culture and music intertwine for this two-day showcase of local culture and the arts. Established in 1989, the festival formerly known as Jazz in the Woods highlights the best the Kansas City area has to offer in live music, food and entertainment. Organized and produced by the Overland Park South Rotary Club, all net proceeds go towards supporting local children’s charities.

Father’s Day Food Truck Brunch

Finally, treat Dad to the brunch he deserves with the Father’s Day Food Truck Brunch hosted by one of Kansas City’s best coffee brewers, The Roasterie. Now hosting a Food Truck Brunch in the parking lot every Sunday throughout the summer, they’ve got special plans for this Father’s Day edition. This family-friendly event includes an assortment of KC food trucks, live music, games and of course, great coffee, all with free admission. Vendors lined up for this week include Beer PawsEB LeatherworksDare to Dabble, and The Photo Bus along with a variety of food trucks from cajun to bbq to sweet treats.
