Bring the whole family out to celebrate fall for the 23rd Annual Waldo Fall Festival, going on all day this Saturday in the heart of Waldo at 75th and Wornall. This free event is a family-friendly, neighborhood festival that includes kids rides, games, and face painting, plus food trucks, local music, and a host of vendors to meet and mingle with throughout the day. Get there early for the Pancake Breakfast and stay late for the closing act from a great local band.

7th Annual KC Beer Fest
Saturday, September 19

Flying Saucer hosts the 7th Annual KC Beer Fest this Saturday afternoon. You can taste and try more than 150 different craft beers from around the world while enjoying live music, gourmet food booths and additional entertainment. Get there early for rare tappings that will be introduced throughout the event. The festival will take place inside the KC Live! Block and on Walnut Street in the Kansas City Power & Light District. Tickets can be bought online and at the event, VIP ticket holders can enter the event an hour early, at 2 p.m.

Grub Crawl

Tickets: $25 (must be purchased in advance)
If you like pub crawls and food, then you should definitely check out City Market’s hybrid of the two this Saturday at Grub Crawl. Grub Crawl Passport holders will experience a culinary adventure in the historic River Market. Each stop on the Grub Crawl walking tour will offer a taste or small plate from participating restaurants. Between bites, you can enjoy live music from local performers along the route. Tickets are $25 and get you a passport and a Grub Crawl t-shirt. Tickets must be purchased in advance, and there’s a limited quantity so be sure to get yours soon. Ticket holders will check in under the City Market Arch beginning at 5 p.m. where you will receive a passport. Stroll through the historic neighborhood and receive a stamp at each participating restaurant. At the end of the evening, turn in your completed passport to be entered into a prize drawing. Proceeds benefit Friends of the City Market.

KC Bier Co Oktoberfest

No ticket required, but donations are being accepted for KC Pet Project
Kick off Oktoberfest season this weekend at KC Bier Co’s Oktoberfest Festival. The popular local brewing company is hosting the festival for the second year in a row. A combination of good food, good music, good friends and lots of authentic German-style beer, it’s sure to be a great time. No tickets are required for the event, but donations will be accepted for the KC Pet Project. If you choose to donate you’ll receive a green alpine hat to help get you in the Oktoberfest mood. New this year is a small carnival area with games like “Growler Ring Toss”, a strongman hammer game and “Keg Bowling”. Also back by popular demand is the Lederhosen and Dirndl competition, so put on your best German for a chance to win prizes.

Worlds of Fun Halloween Haunt

It’s that time of year again, Halloween Haunt returns to Worlds of Fun every Friday and Saturday this weekend through Halloween. Enjoy mazes, scare zones and haunted houses along with your favorite rides. This year’s event features 8 scary mazes, including one spooky corn maze as well as 5 terrifying scare zones. Halloween Haunt also includes its own shows and events throughout the fall season. Ticket packages are available and can be bought online or at the gate. Happy haunting!
