The Strawberry Swing Indie Craft Fair’s Summer Swing

Get your craft fix this Saturday at the Summer Swing. Full of creatives who are experts at their craft, this indie craft fair is the Midwest’s celebration of the handmade movement. Join the fun at Kansas City’s #1 Indie Craft Fair as you shop more than 95 handmade and vintage vendors, listen to live music, enjoy a photo booth, a kid’s crafts table and more. Food Trucks CoffeeCakeKC, Werner’s On Wheels and Sweet Caroline’s Ice Box will be serving up sweet treats throughout the day. Admission is free, and the first 100 guests to bring a monetary donation will receive a coveted swag bag full of items the makers have donated.

Chipotle Cultivate Festival

“If you’re more in the mood for a food and music festival, head over to Penn Valley Park for Chipotle’s Cultivate Festival. Featuring a great line up of live music, chef demonstrations, activities, food & drink tastings, a kids’ zone and more, it’s sure to be a fun and delicious time for attendees of all ages. The Artisans’ Hall will offer local desserts for purchase and a Tasting Hall serving local craft beers, wines and ciders. There will be some amazing chef demonstrations on site by Colby Garrelts of Bluestem and Rye, Michael Corvino of The American Restaurant, Carla Hall from ABC’s The Chew, James Beard Award-winning TV personality Andrew Zimmern, and Gerard Craft, owner of Niche Food Group in the St. Louis area. Plus, admission is free!

Rock the Crossroads 5K

Saturday, July 23
Race Start: 7:30 p.m.
Registration Fee: $36

Rock on and beat the heat on Saturday during the hottest 5K in Kansas City, the Rock the Crossroads 5k. The 7th annual evening race will take you and a thousand or more of your sweaty friends through the streets of the Crossroads arts and music district in downtown KC. Your reward for beating the heat will be a free concert after the race. Join the fun and help support the Police Athletic League. Unique rock-and-roll themed prizes will be given to the top overall performers in each age group. Register online in advance.

KC Fringe Festival

KC Fringe Festival is back again at Union Station starting this weekend and running through the end of the month. The annual KC Fringe Festival is a celebration of performance and creativity that tiptoes the line between eclectic tastes and pieces with mass appeal. The 11-day extravaganza typically features performances in dance, theater, comedy, spoken word, visual arts, film, burlesque and music. KC Fringe Festival is a city-wide celebration of local, regional and national artists. Visit Fringe 411 in the lower, theater level of Union Station across from the Escape Room for ticket and merchandise sales, programs, show information, and questions about the festival.
