The Sprint Family Fun Days series is kicking off once again this Saturday in the Power and Light District downtown. Bring your family to Capes & Crowns for a magical day where kids can meet and have their photos taken with their favorite Super Heroes and Princesses, enjoy family-friendly live music by Mr. Stinky Feet and more. Kids dressed as their favorite super hero or princess will also receive a special treat. Free admission includes arts & crafts by Oddball Kids, lil’ tots corner, a bubble tent, hula hoops and free entertainment by Mr. Stinky Feet. Premium activities require a $5 wristband and include a Castle Moonwalk, Crazy Corner Obstacle Course, a Fire Truck Slide, a Super Hero Moonwalk, the Smiles Express Trackless Train and a Slippery Slope Challenge.

The Weston Wine Festival

Enjoy your Saturday by sipping on local wines at the inaugural Weston WineFest sponsored by Pirtle Winery. Come and enjoy live music and taste wines from 8 different wineries from around the area including Pirtle Winery, Ladoga Ridge Winery, Windy Wine Company, Riverwood Winery, Fence Stile Winery, Tipple Hill Winery, Vox Vineyards and Weston Wine Company. If you find a favorite, wines from the participating wineries will be available for purchase. A souvenir wine glass will be included with your ticket price for tastings.

This weekend is also a busy weekend for music and concerts in Kanas City. First up is 98.9 The Rock’s Annual Rockfest, held throughout the day on Saturday on the lawns at Liberty Memorial. Established in 1992, Rockfest KC is widely regarded as one of the most esteemed rock festivals in the area. Hosted by local radio station The Rock, this musical event has developed a reputation for attracting some of the finest rock acts around. This year the lineup includes bands such as Disturbed, Hellyeah, Seether and Ghost to name just a few. Bands will play on three different stages all afternoon and evening, and the night will finish with a spectacular fireworks show.

The Beach Boys at the Midland

If beach music is more your vibe, then you’ll want to catch The Beach Boys, playing at the Midland Theatre on Saturday night. Captained by Mike Love, The Beach Boys still play an astoundingly busy schedule of concerts, averaging 150 shows a year, ranging from sun drenched summer festivals to gala New Year’s celebrations and special events worldwide. This Rock & Roll Hall of Fame band is only in KC for one night, and will feature founding Beach Boy Mike Love as lead vocals, Beach Boy-vet Bruce Johnston as vocals and keyboards, Christian Love on guitar and vocals, Randell Kirsch on bass and vocals, Tim Bonhomme on keyboards and vocals, John Cowsill of The Cowsills playing percussion and doing vocals and Scott Totten on guitar and vocals rounds out the band.

And for country fans, superstar Carrie Underwood is bringing her Storyteller Tour to the Sprint Center on Sunday evening. Seven-time Grammy winner and Pollstar’s three-time top female country touring artist, Carrie Underwood, who just released her fifth studio album, Storyteller, is taking her new music on the road. The Storyteller Tour – Stories in the Round, will make a stop at Sprint Center. With the stage in the middle of the arena floor, the 360-degree setting will allow fans on all sides of the arena to get a very intimate and unique concert experience. She’s sure to put on a show you won’t want to miss.
