Bring your kiddos to the Kansas City Zoo this weekend for some spooky, not scary, activities and entertainment. Hoots and Howls is packed with fun for all ages, with activities including a pedal tractor, hay bale maze and face painting. Your kids are invited to sing along with our interactive DJ, take a ride on the Scare-o-cel, enjoy a hayride and create a wild craft in the lobby. The animals will be joining in the fun by smashing pumpkins at scheduled times throughout the day. Batman and Superman will also be making a stop at Hoots & Howls for you to get a photo opp with these superheroes.

Halloween Extravaganza

Tickets: $9

For more Halloween fun, be sure to check out the Halloween Extravaganza at the Kansas City Convention Center on Saturday afternoon and evening. Come meet all your favorite superheroes, princesses, and other beloved characters at Kansas City’s biggest Halloween party. Other activities include face painting, music, dancing, balloon artists, costume contests, activity booths, and of course, lots of candy. Proceeds from the event benefit Children’s Mercy Hospital and the I Love Children’s Mercy Fund.

Pumpkins and Mums Fall Festival

FREE Admission

Fall festivals are in full swing this weekend as well with the Pumpkins and Mums Fall Festival in historic downtown Excelsior Springs. Spend the day meandering through a variety of crafters, vendors and artists while enjoying live music. The event also features children’s activities such as face painting, pumpkin painting, carnival games, pony rides, a scarecrow decorating contest and a petting zoo. There will be a beer and wine garden, with offerings from local wineries including Arcadia Moon Winery, Fence Stile Winery, Of the Earth Distillery and Stone Hill Winery. Hit up the food trucks when you get hungry, and don’t miss the pie in the face contest at 2 p.m.

Wicked Wine Walk

General Admission: $30
VIP: $50

Sip while you stroll during the Wicked Wine Walk in downtown’s Power and Light District this Saturday. Enjoy live music, wine tastings and small plates at each of the seven participating venues including Bar Louie, Bristol Seafood Grill, The Chesterfield, Cleaver & Cork, Drunken Fish Sushi Restaurant & Lounge, The Garment District Boutique and Yard House. A portion of the proceeds benefit KC Pet Project. GA tickets will get you souvenir tasting glass along with a wine tasting and small plate at each of the venues. Once you complete your wine walk, head back to one of the venues and enjoy a glass of your favorite varietal.
