Get your kiddos excited for Halloween with some Boo-tastic Fun at Crown Center this weekend. Take advantage of a photo opp with the Wicked Queen each afternoon. Then, don’t miss the show with a different act performing each day. On Saturday, the StoneLion Puppet Theatre presents “Calaca Marionettes: El Dia de los Muertos” at noon and 2 p.m. Then come back on Sunday for “Boneyard Jamboree”, also at noon and 2 p.m. Then, check out the shops and restaurants that make Crown Center so unique for a weekend that’s full of fun for the whole family.

KC West Bottoms Haunted Houses

Open Fridays & Saturdays through November 5th

For some grown up scares, head to the historic West Bottoms, home to five nationally renowned haunted houses. Try something new, hit up your fave or enter all five, if you dare. The Beast, Edge of Hell, Macabre Cinema, The Chambers of Edgar Allen Poe and Kansas City’s Ghosts and Gangsters Tour all await those brave enough to enter. The haunted houses will be open through the first weekend in November.

For some spooky fun that’s more family friendly, test your navigational skills at the Liberty Corn Maze. This year’s design celebrates our American electoral democracy system and the Rock the Vote campaign. Open for its last weekend, the farm features four vast, themed mazes to choose from. Visitors can trek through the donkey, elephant, guitar or rock the vote logo on an amazing adventure filled with twists and turns. For an extra challenge, come for Flashlight Fridays, a tremendously popular activity as guests love getting lost in the dark.

American Royal World Series of Barbecue

Finally, treat yourself to some of the world’s best barbecue at the world’’s largest barbecue competition and Kansas City’’s greatest tradition, the American Royal World Series of Barbecue. Now in its 37th year, the event will be hosted for the first time at the Kansas Speedway. The event launches on Friday night with Kansas City’’s Party of the Year. Teams host friends and families in their space to kick off the weekend. Even if you don’’t have a tent to go to, you can still come down and enjoy the marketplace, main stage entertainment, delicious BBQ, and much more. Then, on Saturday, check out the Cerner Cowtown Family Funfest with activities for the entire family, BMX performances, and Tyler Farr headlining on the Budweiser Stage.
