Why does the Islamic State refer to its enemies as “Roman Crusaders?” Brian L. Steed, a military historian at the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, will explore the effect of the Crusades of the Middle and Late Middle Ages on Islam’s perception of the west in this lecture at the Kansas City Public Library.

Koresh Dance

The revered Koresh Dance Company will perform at Johnson County Community College. The company was formed in 1991 by Israeli-born Roni Koresh and features a wide repertoire of work that ranges from explosive and passionate to intimate and restrained.
