The National World War I Museum has a full weekend of programs to commemorate Veterans Day this weekend. Enjoy free admission for active duty military/veterans and half-price admission for the general public all weekend. Honor veterans on Saturday at a free public ceremony at 10 a.m., featuring dignitaries, inspiring musical performances and a keynote address from Major General Maria R. Gervais, Deputy Commanding General, Combined Arms Center. Additionally, nearly 100 new bricks will be dedicated as part of the free Walk of Honor Ceremony at 2 p.m. There will also be a Hands-on History exhibit, where history is brought to life as kids of all ages are invited to handle Great War artifacts at a display inside the museum’s Main Gallery.

Doggie Holiday Bazaar

Get your holiday shopping for your pup knocked out at Chicken N Pickle this weekend as they host the Doggie Holiday Bazaar! This holiday event will help raise funds for Wayside Waifs this holiday season to assist with the large intake of animals that were left lost or homeless from the natural disasters that hit our country this year. There will be a variety of vendors promoting wonderful dog toys, treats, apparel, products, services, insurance, and more for you to shop for your four-legged family members or to donate to Wayside Waifs. Wayside Waifs will be bringing dogs and puppies to come out and meet and greet as they look for their fur-ever home. There will also be activities for kids and families of all ages to enjoy such as raffles, a “Puppy Bowl”, games, hot cider and of course, PUPPY SNUGGLES!

12th Annual Holiday Lighting Celebration

If you’re already ready to get into the holiday spirit, head to Briarcliff Village on Saturday afternoon and evening for the Annual Holiday Lighting Celebration at The Village. Join in for some family fun beginning at 3 p.m. with the lighting to follow after dusk. There will be bouncy houses, the wonderful 5 Star Band, caricaturists, hayrides, FREE photos with Santa, face painting, a photo booth, characters, and so much more! An event the whole family can enjoy, you don’t want to miss out on Briarcliff’s biggest Holiday Lighting Ceremony yet!

Thundergong!

Get yourself to the Uptown Theater on Sunday night as Jason Sudeikis and friends get together to present Thundergong! A benefit concert for the Steps Of Faith Foundation. Thundergong is a music and comedy show for Steps of Faith featuring Jason Sudeikis, Will Forte, Fred Armisen, and many more! Ages 18 and up, all tickets include 2 drink tickets.
